Getting to and from the airports

Heathrow

• Piccadilly line to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3, Heathrow Terminal 4 and Heathrow Terminal 5. TfL puts the journey to central London at about 50 minutes. Heathrow is in Zone 6.
• Elizabeth line to Terminals 2 & 3 and 4 every 15 minutes, and Terminal 5 every 30 minutes. TfL gives about 28 minutes to Paddington.
• Heathrow Express runs non-stop to Paddington. It is not included in pay as you go caps or Travelcards.

Example fares from TfL's fares data (adult pay as you go): Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 to Green Park on the Piccadilly line, £5.90; Heathrow to Bond Street on the Elizabeth line, £15.50. Fares vary by route and time, so check TfL's single fare finder.

Gatwick

Gatwick Express and Southern trains run to Victoria; Thameslink runs to London Bridge, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras. TfL says you can pay as you go with contactless or Oyster on Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink.

London City Airport

The DLR runs every 10 minutes from Canary Wharf (about 18 minutes) and Bank (about 22 minutes). Pay as you go works.

Stansted

Stansted Express runs to Liverpool Street, and you can change to the Tube at Tottenham Hale. Check fares and ticket options with the train operator.

Luton

A shuttle links the airport to Luton Airport Parkway station, with Thameslink and East Midlands Railway trains to King's Cross St Pancras. Check fares and ticket options with the operator.

Arriving by train

The big central rail stations all have Tube connections: Paddington, Euston, King's Cross St Pancras, Charing Cross, Liverpool Street, Waterloo, London Bridge and Victoria.
